Replacement of cooling liquid

DISCHARGE OF COOLING LIQUID


Prevention

Replacement of cooling liquid is made on the cold engine. Avoid hit of cooling liquid on the painted surfaces of a body and clothes. Otherwise wash out the place where cooling liquid a plentiful amount of water got.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover a broad tank (see rice. Removal of a cover from a broad tank).
2. Install under a radiator to a sootvetstvo a yushchy container and dress a rubber hose on a drainage tip (see rice. An arrangement of a drainage tip for discharge of cooling liquid). Using the big screw-driver, open the drain stopper located under a tip and merge cooling liquid through a hose in a container.
3. Install the corresponding container under a drain stopper of the block of cylinders of the engine which is located on the right forward side of the block of cylinders (see rice. An arrangement of a stopper of discharge of cooling liquid from the block of cylinders of the engine). Open a drain stopper, turning it a wrench and merge cooling liquid from the block of cylinders of the engine.
4. After discharge of cooling liquid remove a drainage hose and close traffic jams on a radiator and the block of cylinders.

WASHING OF THE COOLING SYSTEM

Cooling liquid needs to be changed periodically, and to wash out the cooling system as in channels of system the rust and dirt is formed.

The radiator needs to be washed out irrespective of the engine.

WASHING OF THE RADIATOR

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect hoses from a radiator.
2. Insert a hose into an entrance opening of the top tank of a radiator, include water and wash out a radiator before emergence of clear water from the lower tank of a radiator.
3. If it is not possible to wash out a radiator clear water, then use detergent.

WASHING OF THE ENGINE

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the thermostat and temporarily establish a thermostat cover.
2. Disconnect hoses from a radiator and give through a hose a pure stream to the block of cylinders of the engine through the top hose of a radiator and wash out it before emergence from the lower hose conducting to a pure radiator.
3. Install the thermostat and connect cooling system hoses.

FILLING OF THE COOLING SYSTEM

Filling of water in a broad tank
If replacement of cooling liquid was made, then first of all fill in 2 liters of water in a broad tank.

Filling of a concentrate of antifreeze
Further fill in the required quantity of a concentrate of antifreeze and clear water until level reaches a tag a move on a broad tank

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before filling of the cooling system check that all hoses and collars in good shape. Pay attention that mix of antifreeze has to be used all the year round for a predotvr of a shcheniye of corrosion.
2. Uncover a broad tank.
3. Slowly fill in cooling liquid until level does not reach a tag a move on a broad tank.
4. If replacement of cooling liquid was made, then at first fill in 2 pure liters in a broad tank, then fill in the required quantity of a concentrate of antifreeze and other water (see rice. Filling of water in a broad tank, Filling of a concentrate of antifreeze).
5. For removal of air from the cooling system squeeze the top and lower hoses of a radiator. After removal of air add cooling liquid to a tag a move on a broad tank and establish a stopper.
6. On 6-cylinder SOHC engines unscrew a stopper from a casing of the sensor of cooling liquid on the top part of a head of the block of cylinders. After emergence of cooling liquid from an opening establish a stopper into place.
7. Start the engine and warm up it up to the working temperature.
8. Stop the engine and cool it, then check the level of cooling liquid.

ANTIFREEZE

Antifreeze represents mix of the distilled water with an ethylene glycol concentrate. Antifreeze provides protection of the cooling system against corrosion and increases a boiling point of cooling liquid. The amount of ethylene glycol in antifreeze depends on weather service conditions of the car and makes from 40 to 70%.
