18.3. Coupling knot


Prevention

During the work of coupling dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy therefore when cleaning coupling do not use compressed air is formed and do not inhale dust. You make cleaning of details of coupling of dust with use of brake fluid or methyl alcohol. After cleaning of details of coupling with use of methyl alcohol or brake fluid wipe details dry.

Removal

Removal of the leading part of coupling from a flywheel

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the transmission
2. Note the provision of the leading knot of coupling in relation to a flywheel, using a marker or paint.
3. Gradually in the diagonal sequence weaken bolts of fastening of the leading knot of coupling, turning each bolt on a half of a turn until it is terminated a spring, and bolts can be unscrewed manually.
4. Remove the leading knot of coupling and a clutch plate from a flywheel (see rice. Removal of the leading part of coupling from a flywheel). At removal be careful as the clutch plate can drop out of the leading part of coupling. Note orientation of a clutch plate in relation to a flywheel. The bigger ledge of a nave of a clutch plate has to be directed to the transmission.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check overlays of a clutch plate for wear, mechanical damages or pollution by oil.
2. With these defects the clutch plate needs to be replaced.
3. If frictional slips in good shape are also not worn-out to grooves, springs of a damper are reliably fixed and rivet connections are not loosened, then the clutch plate can be installed in the car.
4. If the clutch plate is polluted by oil, check the left oil sealing ring of a bent shaft or a main shaft of the transmission. If necessary replace sealing rings before installation of a new clutch plate.
5. Check knot of a drive plate for wear of a press disk, mechanical damages, reliability of rivet connection, damage of a diaphragm spring of coupling. If the spring of a diaphragm is worn-out or damaged, or there are suspicions that elasticity of a spring changed, then it is necessary to replace knot of a drive plate.
6. Check the working surfaces of a press disk and a flywheel interfaced to overlays of a clutch plate. They have to be pure, flat and not have scratches and development.
7. Check press the bearing which has to rotate easily, evenly and silently. The working surface of the bearing influencing a press spring has to be smooth, without cracks, local corrosion or development.

Installation

Installation of a clutch plate on a flywheel
At installation of a clutch plate an inscription on the disk "engine side" or the smaller party of a nave have to be directed to a flywheel to a flywheel.

Use of a mandrel for centering of a clutch plate

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At installation of new clutch plates or a press clutch plate remove from them anticorrosive protection.
2. At installation of a clutch plate you watch that on its frictional slip even in insignificant quantities oil did not get. Therefore before installation of a clutch plate wipe the interfaced surface of a flywheel and a surface of a press disk with pure rags, and establish a clutch plate by clean hands.
3. Grease vents in a clutch plate nave with a thin layer of special lubricant on the basis of a molybdenum disulfide. Establish a clutch plate on a flywheel so that an inscription on a clutch plate "engine side" or the smaller party of a nave were directed to a flywheel (see rice. Installation of a clutch plate on a flywheel). At installation of the leading part of coupling press a clutch plate to a flywheel.
4. Establish the leading part of coupling, combining tags on a flywheel and the leading part of coupling. Check that adjusting openings on the leading part of coupling were combined from an ustanovochna ми by pins on a flywheel. Tighten bolts of fastening of the leading part of coupling so that the clutch plate was pressed, but, at the same time, could move in the parties.
5. Using a mandrel or an old main shaft of the transmission, center a clutch plate concerning a flywheel (see rice. Use of a mandrel for centering of a clutch plate).
6. After centering of a clutch plate gradually and in the diagonal sequence tighten bolts of fastening of the leading part of coupling the required moment. Take a mandrel from a clutch plate.
7. Grease a shlitsevy part of a main shaft of the transmission and the directing plug of the release bearing with a thin layer of special lubricant on the basis of a molybdenum disulfide.
Prevention

The layer of lubricant has to be thin and uniform, otherwise during the coupling work excessive lubricant will be rejected on the working surfaces of coupling that can break its work.
