22.2. General information
On the car the working brake system with the hydraulic drive and diagonal division of contours is used that considerably increases safety of driving of the car. The brake system consists of the main brake cylinder, the vacuum amplifier of brakes and disk brakes on forward and back wheels.
More and more late models are equipped with the anti-blocking system of brakes consisting of the hydraulic modulator, an electronic control unit, the relay and sensors of speed of rotation of wheels. The system prevents blocking of wheels at sharp braking. On cars with diesel engines the separate pump which is installed on a head of the block of cylinders is used to creation of the vacuum ensuring functioning of the vacuum amplifier of brakes. On the models equipped also with a control system of speed of the car (ASR), the anti-blocking system also performs function of the control system of speed of the movement of the car.
On the majority of models forward disk brakes with a support of floating type with one working brake cylinder are established. On models with more powerful engines establish a motionless support with two working brake cylinders.
On back disk brakes motionless supports with two working brake cylinders are established.
The parking brake of independent type with the hummock drive slows down the brake mechanism of drum type back wheels.
