22.7. Forward brake disk

Prevention

During the work of brake shoes brake dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy forms. Therefore when cleaning brake shoes do not use compressed air and do not inhale dust.

Prevention

In need of replacement of a brake disk it is also necessary to replace also the second brake disk for ensuring uniformity of braking. When replacing brake disks it is also necessary to replace brake shoes.

Use of the indicator of hour type for check of a beating of a brake disk

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the emergency brake, then lift a forward part of the car and record on supports. Remove the corresponding forward wheel.
2. Establish a washer 10 mm thick on a bolt of fastening of a wheel and screw in a fastening bolt in the opening bred from the opposite side of the screw of fastening of a brake disk.
3. Slowly turn a brake disk so that it could be considered from two parties. Wear of a brake disk from blocks has to be in admissible limits. If there are cracks on a disk, the disk is subject to replacement.
4. Using a micrometer, measure thickness of a brake disk (see rice. Use of a micrometer for measurement of thickness of a working part of a brake disk).
5. The indicator of hour type check a beating of a brake disk. Fix the indicator of hour type in any convenient place and, turning a brake disk, define its beating at distance of 10 mm from the outer edge (see rice. Use of the indicator of hour type for check of a beating of a brake disk).
6. Before check of a beating of a brake disk be convinced that the hug bearing is in good shape.
7. Check a brake disk for existence of cracks, especially around openings under bolts of fastening of a wheel, and also for existence of wear or mechanical damages and, if necessary, replace it.

At installation of a brake disk it is necessary to use new bolts of fastening and new screws of fastening of a brake disk.

Removal of a support of a forward brake

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of a wheel with a thick washer which were established when checking a beating of a disk.
2. Unscrew two bolts and remove a forward brake support together with brake shoes and, using a soft wire, tie up it to a forward rack. At the same time do not stretch and do not overwind a brake hose. At installation of a support it is necessary to use new bolts of its fastening.
3. Unscrew the screw, the fixing brake disk to a nave. At installation of a brake disk it is necessary to use the new screw of its fastening.
4. Remove a brake disk from a nave, noting an arrangement of adjusting pins. If the brake disk sits densely on a nave, from a reverse side of a disk knock on it with a kiyanka.

Installation

Installation of the new screw of fastening of a forward brake disk

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation of a brake disk, using the corresponding tap, clear a carving in an opening for bolts of fastening of a support to a rotary fist. Also clear a carving in an opening for the screw of fastening of a brake disk to a nave.
2. Check and, if necessary, clear the interfaced surfaces of a brake disk and a nave, and also check that adjusting pins were on the places. At installation of a new disk remove a sheeting layer from its surface.
3. Establish a brake disk on a nave, at the same time it has to be recorded by adjusting pins accurately. Fix a brake disk by the new screw, having tightened it the required moment.
4. Establish a brake support into place and fix it by two new bolts, having tightened them the required moment.
5. Establish a wheel, then lower the car on the earth and finally tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel the required moment. Several times press a brake pedal that brake shoes nestled on a brake disk.
