13.5. Final collector

Removal

Arrangement of nuts of fastening of a reception exhaust pipe to a transmission arm

Arrangement of bolts of fastening of an arm of a reception exhaust pipe to the transmission

Removal of a forward part of a final collector from a head of the block of cylinders on the petrol DOHC engine of 3,0 l

Final collector of the 6-cylinder diesel engine with a turbocharger of 3,0 l

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a forward part of the car and record on supports.
2. Unscrew nuts and remove an U-shaped bracket, the fixing reception exhaust pipe to a transmission arm (see rice. An arrangement of nuts of fastening of a reception exhaust pipe to a transmission arm).
3. Unscrew the bolts fixing an arm of a reception exhaust pipe to the transmission (see rice. An arrangement of bolts of fastening of an arm of a reception exhaust pipe to the transmission).
4. On models with 6-cylinder petrol SOHC engines unscrew and remove the heat-resistant screen from the lower party of a collector.
5. Using a jack, support a forward part of the exhaust system a jack and disconnect a reception exhaust pipe from a final collector.
6. On models with petrol engines remove the air filter.
7. Note an arrangement of a fixing bracket and unscrew a pipe for the probe of measurement of level of oil. On models with system of injection of fuel unscrew an air spray from a final collector and move it aside. On models with system of repeated combustion of exhaust gases unscrew the EGR valve and remove pipes from a final collector.
8. Unscrew nuts of fastening of a final collector and remove a collector from racks of a head of the block of cylinders. Remove laying of a final collector. On models with 6-cylinder engines the final collector consists of two parts. On diesel engines two parts of a final collector are connected to a turbocharger by a branch pipe (see rice. Removal of a forward part of a final collector from a head of the block of cylinders on the petrol DOHC engine of 3,0 l, the Final collector of the 6-cylinder diesel engine with a turbocharger of 3,0 l). Weaken collars of fastening of a connecting branch pipe and divide two parts of a final collector.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments.
2. Being careful and using a plastic or wooden scraper, clear the interfaced surfaces of a final collector and a head of the block of cylinders.
3. On 6-cylinder petrol SOHC engines the otbortovanny edge of laying of an inlet collector has to be directed to a collector.
4. On fastenings of a final collector use new nuts.
