21.2. General information
Connection of two parts of the driveshaft is carried out by connection like the shlitsevy sliding coupling. Such connection allows to move a back part of the driveshaft along an axis therefore the total length of the driveshaft changes. The driveshaft connects to flanges of the transmission and reverse main gear via rubber elastic couplings. Between the forward rubber coupling and the driveshaft the quencher of tortional fluctuations is established. The case of the central bearing of the driveshaft fastens bolts to the car bottom. In back section of the driveshaft behind the central bearing the universal hinge which allows to transfer torque at an angle is installed.
Is a part of the main reverse gear: leading gear wheel, cogwheel, differential and output flanges. On a shaft of the leading gear wheel the flange which connects the driveshaft via the elastic rubber coupling is established. The cogwheel fastens bolts to a box of differential and transmits torque through semi-axial gear wheels and flanges on power shafts. The differential provides rotation of driving wheels on the different parties of the car with different speeds. It is necessary for passing of turns when the wheel on inside of turn rotates in much smaller radius, than a wheel on the outer side of turn. In other words, the wheel on inside of turn passes in a certain interval of time shorter way, than a wheel on the outer side of turn therefore also the speed of its rotation has to be less. However in practice of a wheel seldom rotate with precisely identical speed, even at the movement on the direct road as even the small difference of diameters of wheels or passing of wheels of one party on an uneven surface cause a difference in speeds which compensation requires differential.
Power shafts transfer torque from output flanges of reverse main gear to back wheels. From two parties of each power shaft hinges of equal angular speeds are installed. Internal hinges of equal angular speeds fasten bolts to output flanges of reverse main gear, and external hinges are installed in grooves of a nave of a wheel and fasten a nut.
Repair of reverse main gear requires application of a number of special tools therefore this work needs to be performed at service station.
