21.6. Power shafts

Prevention

At installation of a power shaft it is necessary to use new nuts of fastening of a power shaft to a nave of a back wheel and new bolts of fastening of a power shaft to a flange of reverse main gear.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using a chisel or the screw-driver, remove a nave nut cap. Using a punch and the hammer, being careful, unbend a fillet of a nut of fastening of a nave from a flute of a power shaft. Weaken a nut of fastening of a power shaft and bolts of fastening of a wheel.
2. Lift a back part of the car and record on supports.
3. Remove the corresponding back wheel. At removal of the left power shaft remove an exhaust pipe.
4. Unscrew bolts and remove the fastening plate fixing a power shaft to a flange of reverse main gear. Using a soft wire, suspend a power shaft to the car bottom (see rice. Unscrewing of bolts of fastening of a power shaft to a flange of reverse main gear).
Prevention

Exclude a possibility of free sagging of a power shaft as it can bring the external hinge of equal angular speeds of a power shaft. At installation of a power shaft it is necessary to use new bolts of fastening of the internal hinge of a power shaft.
5. Unscrew a nut of fastening of a power shaft to a nave and take a power shaft from a nave. If the power shaft densely sits in a nave, for its extraction use a wooden kiyanka or the special tool fastening bolts to a nave.
6. Take a power shaft from under the car.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments.
2. Before installation grease a carving and a side surface of a new nut of fastening of a power shaft with pure engine oil (see rice. Drawing a thin layer of engine oil and a carving, and a side surface of a nut of fastening of a power shaft to a nave).
3. Establish new bolts of fastening of the internal hinge of a power shaft to a flange of reverse main gear.
4. Tighten a nut of fastening of a power shaft to a nave the required moment. Record a nut from an otvorachivaniye for what, using the hammer and a drift, fuller a nut fillet in a groove of a power shaft (see rice.
