21.9. Rubber elastic coupling of the driveshaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Tighten the emergency brake, then lift a forward part of the car and record on supports. |
2. Check a condition of the rubber elastic coupling connecting a forward part of the driveshaft to an output flange of the transmission for lack of wear, damages, cracks and aging. If necessary replace the rubber elastic coupling. |

Prevention
When replacing the rubber elastic coupling of the driveshaft it is necessary to use new nuts of fastening of the coupling.

Arrangement of a ledge of a quencher of tortional fluctuations on models where the axis of bolts of fastening is displaced on 40 mm from a driveshaft axis
Combination of an arrow with a ledge on a flange on models where the axis of a bolt is displaced on 45 mm and more, concerning a driveshaft axis
BACK COUPLING

2. Unscrew nuts, then take bolts and remove the elastic coupling from the driveshaft. |
3. Install the new elastic coupling on the driveshaft, insert bolts of fastening and screw new nuts on them and tighten them the required moment. |
4. Install the driveshaft. |
