6.16. Replacement of sealing rings of a bent shaft

FORWARD SEALING RING OF THE BENT SHAFT

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft / a quencher of tortional fluctuations and a nave.
2. Measure depth of installation of a sealing ring.
3. Using a screw-driver edge, take a sealing ring from a nest.
4. Alternatively, drill two small openings located in diametrically противопо the false ends of a sealing ring in a sealing ring. Screw in two self-cutting screws in the drilled openings of a sealing ring and, using flat-nose pliers, extend a sealing ring for heads of screws.
5. Clear a nest of a sealing ring.
6. For protection of working edges of a sealing ring at its installation wrap up an adhesive tape an end face of a bent shaft.
7. Dip a new sealing ring into pure engine oil and, using a tubular mandrel of the corresponding diameter, establish a sealing ring in a nest on earlier measured depth.
8. Remove an adhesive tape from an end face of a bent shaft.
9. Establish a pulley of a bent shaft / a quencher of tortional fluctuations and a nave.

BACK SEALING RING OF THE BENT SHAFT

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a drive flywheel / plate.
2. Measure depth of installation of a sealing ring.
3. Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, take a sealing ring from a nest.
4. Alternatively drill two small openings located in the opposite ends of consolidation in a sealing ring. Screw in two self-cutting screws in the drilled openings of a sealing ring and, using flat-nose pliers, extend a sealing ring for heads of screws.
5. Check a condition of the surface of a bent shaft contacting to a sealing ring. With strong wear the bent shaft needs to be replaced.
6. Clear a nest for a sealing ring and the surface of a bent shaft contacting to a sealing ring.
7. For protection of working edges of a sealing ring from damage at its installation wind an end face of a bent shaft with an adhesive tape.
8. Dip a new sealing ring into pure engine oil and, using a tubular mandrel of the corresponding diameter, establish a sealing ring in a nest on earlier measured depth.
9. Remove an adhesive tape from an end face of a bent shaft.
10. Establish a drive flywheel / plate.
