10.8. Fuel level sensor
Prevention
Gasoline extremely fire - is also explosive therefore it is necessary to show care during the work on any part of fuel system.
Works on fuel system need to be performed in well aired room for what it is possible to open all windows and doors for draft creation.
During the work on fuel system do not use naked flame, electric welding and tools during the work with which sparks can be formed. Check that in close proximity to a workplace there is a charged fire extinguisher.
For protection of eyes against hit of fuel in them use points. At hit of fuel on skin wash out this place a plentiful amount of water.
Capacity in which there was a fuel contains vapors of fuel and is potentially explosive.
During the work with fuel system observe purity as the dirt which got to canals of fuel system can block them that will break normal operation of the engine.
Removal

| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. It is desirable to make removal of the fuel level sensor on the empty fuel tank. If the fuel tank is completely filled with fuel, pump out from it at least 8 liters of fuel before removal of the fuel level sensor. |
| 2. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator. |
| 3. On the Sedan models remove finishing of a trunk floor, take clamps and remove the pro-masonry panel of the fuel tank. On the Station wagon models remove forward finishing of a luggage carrier or a back of the third row of seats. Take clamps and lift a rug of the luggage compartment. |
| 4. On the Station wagon models remove a protective cover from a floor, then disconnect the electric socket from the top part of the fuel level sensor (see the drawing). Using a soft wire, fix the electric socket so that it did not fall for the fuel tank. |
| 5. Unscrew a nut of fastening of the sensor and take the fuel level sensor from the fuel tank. |
| 6. Remove a sealing ring from an opening for installation of the fuel level sensor. |

Installation
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments. |
| 2. Before installation of the new fuel level sensor shoot from it the protective film and take the blocking pin. |
| 3. Replace a sealing ring of the fuel level sensor. |
| 4. Tighten a nut of fastening of the fuel level sensor the required moment. |
| 5. Check correctness and reliability of connection of the electric socket to the sensor. |
| 6. Before installation of the pro-masonry panel of the fuel tank start the engine and check that there is no leak of fuel about the fuel level sensor. |
