3.9. Check and replacement of a driving chain

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the air filter.
2. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders.
3. For a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a bent shaft turn a bent shaft of the engine and on all length check a condition of a chain. If the chain during the operation of the engine publishes the increased noise or there is a big axial side play of a chain on an asterisk, the chain needs to be replaced. In the presence of development on chain rollers the chain needs also to be replaced.

At removal of a chain it is necessary to use an emery circle or vulkanit, for cutting of the coming-out hats of one of chain links.

Removal of a link from a driving chain

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Remove the air filter and a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
3. Unscrew spark plugs.
4. Remove the mechanism of a tension of a driving chain.
5. Using pure rags, close a head of the block of cylinders and a chain in a cover.
6. Using an emery circle or vulkanit, cut off the coming-out hats of one of chain links in the top part of an asterisk.
7. Remove the fixing chain link plate, then take a chain link from a driving chain (see the drawing).
8. Remove rags, at the same time be careful that shaving did not get in a cover of a driving chain.
9. Using a link of a new chain, connect a new driving chain to old and turning a bent shaft of the engine clockwise, pass a new chain around asterisks and guides. At the same time constantly pull a new chain that its links were accurately combined with a camshaft asterisk. Also constantly support an old chain in a tension to prevent its falling from an asterisk of a bent shaft.
10. After an exit of a new chain from a cover of a driving chain, keeping a tension of both branches of a chain, remove an old chain from new.
11. Establish a new chain on an asterisk of the camshaft and connect the chain link inserted from a back part of an asterisk.
12. Establish the fixing plate on a connecting link of a chain and its rasklepayta. At a rasklepyvaniye support a connecting link of a chain from a reverse side by the big hammer. Be careful not to damage a chain or an asterisk of the camshaft.
13. After a rasklepyvaniye of a connecting link of a chain check that on it there were no metal agnails.
14. Establish a natyazhitel of a chain.
15. Turning a bent shaft of the engine clockwise, install the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point and check that all adjusting tags were combined with indexes.
16. Screw in spark plugs.
17. Establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders and the air filter.
18. Connect a weight wire to the accumulator.
