Choice of radical inserts of a bent shaft

FOUR-CYLINDER PETROL ENGINES

For determination of the required thickness of new radical inserts it is necessary to measure the internal diameter of the radical bearing, diameter of a radical neck of a bent shaft and to consider a working gap of the bearing. The required thickness of the bearing can be calculated as follows.

Diameter of the bearing is 62,51 mm
Diameter of a neck of the crankshaft of 57,95 mm
4,56 mm
Working gap of the bearing of-0,04 mm

If it is necessary to use the top and lower radical inserts of various thickness, then thicker insert needs to be established in a cover of the radical bearing.

SIX-CYLINDER PETROL SOHC ENGINES

Thickness of inserts of radical bearings is defined in the same way, as well as for 4-cylinder petrol engines. For determination of the required size of inserts it is necessary to consult at the dealer of Mercedes-Benz.

SIX-CYLINDER PETROL DOHC ENGINES

For determination of the required thickness of new radical inserts it is necessary to measure the internal diameter of the radical bearing, diameter of a radical neck of a bent shaft and to consider a working gap of the bearing. The required thickness of the bearing can be calculated as follows.

If it is necessary to use the top and lower radical inserts of various thickness, then thicker insert needs to be established in a cover of the radical bearing.

Determine the required thickness of an insert of the radical bearing by the table after consultation with the dealer of Mercedes-Benz.

DIESEL ENGINES

Inserts of radical bearings have color marking. Inserts of three various thickness with color marking of blue, yellow and red color are used.

The bent shaft of the engine also has the color marking put on cheeks of a bent shaft or on a protivova of Sakha behind necks of a bent shaft. On the block of cylinders there are also tags in the form of points.

Thickness of an insert of the radical bearing is chosen on crossing of the vertical and horizontal line.
