27.38. Automatic transmission
The automatic transmission includes the corresponding transfer depending on position of the lever of the selector of the transmission, speed of the movement of the car and the provision of a pedal of an accelerator.
Prevention
Move the lever of the selector to required position only during the operation of the engine idling. Before movement of the selector tighten the parking brake, otherwise the car will begin the immediate movement.
Dispersal of the car depending on the provision of a pedal of an accelerator
By insignificant pressing of a pedal of an accelerator there is earlier switching of the transmission to the highest transfer and, at the same time the car accelerates slowly.
By strong pressing of a pedal акселерато ра there is later switching of the transmission to the highest transfer and at the same time the car accelerates rather intensively.
By pressing a pedal of an accelerator against the stop and its deduction in this situation there is a compulsory switching of the transmission to the lowest transfer and at the same time the car accelerates with the maximum acceleration.
Position of the lever of the selector
Р – Parking. This situation should be established only at a car stop. Driving wheels are blocked in this situation and interfere with movement of the car. It is necessary to tighten also parking brake. It is forbidden to install the lever in this situation at the movement of the car.
R – Backing. This situation should be established only at the stopped car and the engine idling.
N – Neutral situation. This situation should be established at start of the engine and its work idling. At release of brakes the car freely moves.
D – Advance. Usual situation at the movement.
3 – The movement of the car happens only on the first three transfers.
2 – The movement only on the first and second transfers. It is used at the movement without trailer on roads with rises or descents in mountains or the movement with a speed up to 40 km/h.
