Prevention

At installation of cross steering draft it is necessary to use new nuts of fastening of spherical hinges.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Tighten the parking brake, then lift a forward part of the car and record on supports. Remove the corresponding forward wheel.

2. Unscrew nuts, the fixing spherical hinges of cross steering thirst for a rotary fist and the intermediate lever or a steering bipod. Using a stripper, remove spherical hinges and take cross steering draft from under the car.

3. Check that spherical hinges of cross steering draft freely and smoothly move, and their protective covers have no cracks and damages. If spherical hinges have a side play or are hardly turned, and also have mechanical damages, they need to be replaced. If protective covers of spherical hinges are damaged, replace them, having also filled spherical hinges with fresh lubricant.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Clear pins of spherical hinges of steering draft. If new assembly of cross steering draft is established, check draft length. The distance between centers of spherical hinges has to make 333 ± 2 mm.

2. Establish cross steering draft into place, at the same time keep in mind that the internal hinge is fixed by a clip, and external - a lock-nut and a coupling ring. Establish pins of spherical hinges in an opening of a rotary fist and the intermediate lever or a steering bipod.

3. Screw new nuts on spherical hinges and tighten them the required moment.

4. Establish a wheel, then lower the car on the earth and tighten the required moment bolts of fastening of a wheel. Check and, if necessary, adjust a convergence of forward wheels.
