23:21. Steering column
Prevention
At installation it is necessary to use a new bolt of fastening of the rubber coupling of a steering column.

| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator. |
| 2. Remove a steering wheel. |
| 3. Remove the lock of a steering column. |
| 4. Remove a combination of devices, the multipurpose switch of a steering column and a casing of a steering column. |
| 5. Working in a motor compartment and using paint or a chertilka, note the mutual provision of the lower end of a steering column and the rubber coupling. |
| 6. Unscrew and take the top bolt of fastening of the coupling to a steering column (see rice. An arrangement of a bolt of fastening of the rubber coupling to a steering column). |
| 7. Unscrew the top bolts of fastening of a steering column, access to which is possible through an aperture for a combination of devices. Unscrew nuts of the lower fastening of a steering column (see rice. Arrangement of nuts of the lower fastening of a steering column). |
| 8. Remove the plug of a protective cover of a steering column from a partition of a motor compartment and remove a steering column from the car. Check a condition of the rubber coupling and, if necessary, replace it. |

| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. The steering column has a telescopic element of safety. At head-on collision the telescopic element of safety collapses, at the same time a significant amount of energy is absorbed that reduces risk of traumatizing the driver about a steering wheel. Check a condition of a steering column, in particular elements of its fastening for existence of damages and deformation and, if necessary, replace. |
| 2. Check a side play of a steering shaft in plugs of a steering column. If plugs of a steering column are worn-out or damaged, the steering column needs to be repaired. Repair of a steering column needs to be made at service station with use of special tools. |

Installation
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Before installation grease the lower plug of a steering column with universal lubricant. Combine tags on the rubber coupling and a steering column and establish a steering column in grooves of the rubber coupling. |
| 2. Check correctness of an arrangement of the plug of a protective cover of a steering column on a partition of a motor compartment, then fix a steering column by bolts and nuts, having tightened them the required moment. |
| 3. Fix the rubber coupling by a new bolt and tighten it the required moment. |
| 4. Install the multipurpose switch on a steering column and a combination of devices on the dashboard. |
| 5. Put the lock of a steering column. |
| 6. Establish a steering wheel. |
