23:25. Steering transfer

Prevention

At installation of steering transfer it is necessary to use new bolts of fastening of steering transfer, new nuts of spherical hinges, the central steering draft and cross steering draft, and also new bolts of fastening of the rubber coupling.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the parking brake, then lift a forward part of the car and record on supports.
2. Establish forward wheels in position of the rectilinear movement and in this situation block a steering column the lock of a steering column.
Prevention

After removal of steering transfer do not rotate a steering wheel.
3. On models with the amplifier of steering, using clips, press the giving and returnable hoses about steering transfer. Mark hoses, then unscrew connecting nuts and disconnect the giving and returnable hoses from steering transfer (see rice. Steering transfer with the amplifier of steering, the Place of connection of hoses to steering transfer). Close traffic jams the ends of hoses and an opening in steering transfer.
4. Using paint, note the mutual provision of the lower end of a steering column, the rubber coupling and a shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer. On some models for access to the rubber coupling it is necessary to remove the thermofilter from steering transfer.
5. Unscrew bolts of fastening of the rubber coupling and move it on a steering column so that she acted from a shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer.
6. Unscrew nuts, the fixing spherical hinges of cross steering draft and central steering thirst for a bipod of steering transfer. Using a stripper, remove spherical hinges of steering drafts from a bipod of steering transfer.
7. Unscrew three bolts fixing steering transfer and located under a wheel arch and remove steering transfer from the car.

Repair

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check a condition of steering transfer for existence of wear and damages. Repair of steering transfer needs to be made at service station. It is independently possible to replace only a sealing ring of steering transfer.

Combination of a tag on a gear wheel of steering transfer with a tag on the case of steering transfer on models since 1990

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation of new steering transfer it is necessary to center a steering gear wheel.
2. On early models (till 1990) unscrew a cap and the sealing ring located sideways the block of steering transfer. Then turn a gear wheel in such situation that the centering opening was combined with dredging of a cap. In the presence of the conical screw of blocking, screw in it so that it is reliable to block a gear wheel of steering transfer (see rice. Centering of a gear wheel of steering transfer on early models (till 1990)).
3. On later models (since 1990) combine an adjusting tag on a gear wheel of steering transfer with a tag on the case of steering transfer (see rice. Combination of a tag on a gear wheel of steering transfer with a tag on the case of steering transfer on models since 1990).
4. Establish steering transfer into place. Combine the tags put before removal (at repeated installation of steering transfer) or check correctness of installation of a gear wheel (at installation of new steering transfer) and, moving the rubber coupling to a steering column, connect it to shaft of a gear wheel of steering transfer.
5. Fix steering transfer by new bolts, having tightened them the required moment.
6. On early models unscrew the conical bolt fixing a gear wheel, and establish into place a cap and a sealing ring.
7. Fix the rubber coupling by new bolts, having tightened them the required moment.
8. Insert pins of spherical hinges of the central and cross steering drafts into a bipod of the steering mechanism and fix them by new nuts, having tightened them the required moment.
9. On models with the amplifier of steering connect hoses to steering transfer and fix them by connecting nuts, having tightened them the required moment. Remove air from hydraulic system of the amplifier of steering.
