Removal

Removal of a decorative overlay of the lock of ignition

The tool which needs to be manufactured for removal of the cylinder of the lock of ignition (the sizes in millimeters)

After installation of special adaptation, having pulled for a key, take the ignition lock cylinder.

Extraction of the cylinder of the lock of ignition from the case

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using an edge of the small screw-driver, being careful, remove a decorative overlay of the lock of ignition (see rice. Removal of a decorative overlay of the lock of ignition).
2. Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in situation 1.
3. Take a piece of a steel rigid wire with a diameter of 2 mm and bend a wire in the form of a letter P, then from the inside grind off wire end faces at an angle 70 ° (see rice. The tool which needs to be manufactured for removal of the cylinder of the lock of ignition).
4. Insert a wire into the grooves located from two parties of the cylinder of the lock of ignition and press on a wire to squeeze ignition lock cylinder clamps.
5. For a key take the ignition lock from a nest (see rice. Extraction of the cylinder of the lock of ignition).
6. Remove adaptation from a wire, take the ignition key from the lock cylinder, then take the ignition lock cylinder from the case (see rice. Extraction of the cylinder of the lock of ignition from the case).

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Insert the ignition lock cylinder into the case of the lock of a steering column.
2. Install the case on the ignition lock cylinder so that dredging on the case was directed to a steering column.
3. Insert the ignition key, turn it in situation 1 and with small effort press the ignition lock cylinder together with the case into the case of the lock of a steering column.
Prevention

At installation, the edge of the lock of ignition with teeths has to be directed to a case tag.
4. Check operation of the lock of ignition, then establish a decorative slip.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.
3. Remove the lower finishing of the dashboard from the driver.
4. Note situation and disconnect the electric socket from the ignition lock.
5. On models with diesel engines mark vacuum hoses and disconnect them from the ignition lock. On models with the automatic transmission unscrew a special rope from the ignition lock (see rice. Unscrewing of the nut fixing a special rope to the ignition lock on models with the automatic transmission).
6. Weaken a bolt of fastening of the lock of ignition, then press the fixing pin and remove the ignition lock from a steering column (see rice. Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments:
and – at removal of the lock of ignition the key in the lock of ignition has to be constantly in situation 1,
b – at installation of the lock of ignition check that the fixing pin was established in an opening of a steering column then tighten a fastening bolt,
with – check correctness of an arrangement and fastening of electric conducting,
d – on models with diesel engines check correctness of connection of vacuum hoses to the ignition lock,
е – check correctness of operation of the lock of ignition.
